Our School-Based Programme for ITT Students
Our school-based enrichment programme enables ITT students to experience pedagogy first-hand within the context of a primary school, thereby allowing them to establish clear links between theory and practice.
What can we offer your students?
1) A range of school-based pedagogy and theory sessions, delivered by our Lead Practitioners and Subject Champions, which take place in the same setting that children would encounter these subjects, for example a Music classroom or PE hall;
2) ‘Live’ teaching sessions, which are narrated and guided by our Year Leaders and Lead Practitioners. These include examples such as ‘Play as Pedagogy’ where students can watch a Year 1 transition demonstration lesson in action, have it narrated by our EYFS and Year 1 leaders, and then have a follow-up information and Q&A session;
3) Specialist training sessions in a range of non-curriculum areas, such as Pupil Empowerment, Readiness for Learning, Citizenship, SEND, assessment.
We also offer a range of school-leadership sessions, planned and delivered by our team of Specialist Leaders of Education, specialist SLT members and a National Leader of Education. These sessions would be better suited to Masters-level students.
